I wasted a lot of time in solving this.my mouse and keyboard both were not working and I was installing MacOS Mojave on virtual Box on Linux. All you need to install is Virtual Box Extention pack from their official website-> double click and install it -> then from settings->USB-> select USB-3.restart the OS and this should be it.for more info follow this nice doc: -macos-mojave-virtualbox-windows/
I have a similar problem with teamviewer 15, windows 10 to macOS mojave - after a while mouse will only do right clicks, even when I try to left click. Alt-tab fixes for a while (thanks @GCRaistlin !) - did you ever find another fix?
It looks like by default VMWare sets USB compatibility to 1.1, and the VM did not recognize my USB mouse or keyboard. Changing that to 2.x got those working. The VM you end up with will also work with Linux VMWare WorkStation. You need the Linux VMWare unlocker (in the same zip file that has the Windows one). 2ff7e9595c
